JDC Ambassadors Events Coordinator

The Resource Development Department, Ambassadors (major individual gifts) division, is looking for an Events Coordinator to support the department in all aspects of event planning, donor tracking, marketing and communication, data management, and other assorted duties.

Main Responsibilities 

  • Coordinate events at all levels for major gifts program – from large 100+ symposia, to smaller high level dinners, and video conferences. Including but not limited to:
    • all events across the country and JDC Symposia
    • our annual Schiff event and Warburg event for major donors
    • events for giving circles in NY including  Art Circle, Food Circle, Impact Network and country based membership groups, and support for circles that meet out of NY
    • US based donor retreats
    • other events and exhibits, especially in NYC;
  • For each event, manage responsibilities of every aspect from conception to execution to follow-up and systems management. Including but not limited to:
    • Connecting with key donors/hosts/speakers
    • Managing web and print marketing, communication and follow up
    • Creation and management of invitation and registration lists
    • Maintenance and integration of responses and new prospects into our fundraising and marketing systems
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for all aspects of global video calls/updates for major donors
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for Ambassadors Steering Committee meetings and calls
  • Conduct basic donor research and work with prospect research professionals on in-depth reports for major prospects and coordinating donor follow up with JDC staff around the country
  • Communicate directly with donors regularly– responding to questions in person, on the phone and in writing with fluency in JDC’s work and donor opportunities
  • Evaluate data on success of programs, trips, and fundraising
  • Work closely with other departments, including Operations, Accounting, Marketing and Communications, and Legal to create positive collaboration and coordination


  • BA degree
  • At least 1-3 years’ work experience.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of /or ability to quickly learn Raiser’s Edge, our fundraising system
  • Excellent writing skills, from marketing materials to letters and emails
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships to ensure smooth processes and donor relations
  • Friendly demeanor and client-service attitude
  • Interest and openness to learning and growing in the position and within the resource development team
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Creative ideas for engagement, programs, travel a plus
