From the vast expanse of the former Soviet Union to Israel, JDC is helping to empower Jewish women.

In former Communist countries where Jewish communal life was once outlawed, we are supporting emerging women’s clubs and outreach programs for young mothers such as Mazel Tov.

In Israel, we are helping immigrant women from Ethiopia and the Caucasus Mountain Region build bridges between their native cultures and Israeli society through programs such as Eshet Chayil (Women of Valor) that prepares Ethiopian- and Caucasus-Israeli women for employment. We also are aiding women from dysfunctional families with programs such as one that teaches battered women parenting skills. And we have created a number of empowerment programs that help women achieve in the workplace.

In partnership with other agencies, we are bringing together Israeli and Palestinian professionals to establish culturally sensitive support services for women coping with breast cancer.

We invite you to learn more about our programs for women around the world.
