Discover emerging, flagship Jewish community of Budapest.

In Budapest, witness the rebuilding of urban, sophisticated Jewish life in Central Europe. And go for an unforgettable day to the international summer camp in Szarvas, Hungary to witness the future.

In 1991, the fall of communist rule in the USSR brought hopes and new freedoms to the region, and also sparked significant economic challenges.

Under the combined Soviet leadership and threats of the Nazi party, Jewish life had been repressed for decades. Today, the Jewish community, still many in number, is scattered and struggles to find a balance between freedoms as Jews and as citizens of their new homeland. Many Jews in Hungary have been learning about traditions and religious practice enthusiastically, while working to create a stable life.
