Charitable IRA Extended
When Congress passed the American Taxpayer Relief Act on New Year’s Day, a special benefit was included. The Charitable IRA Rollover was extended for certain charitable distributions made throughout 2013.
- If you are over 70½, you may use traditional or Roth IRA funds to make tax-free distributions up to $100,000 directly from these accounts for charitable purposes.
- Couples can double these transfer amounts for a combined charitable distribution of $200,000.
