Chanukah in Cuba
More information: Rebecca Neuwirth, Director of JDC Ambassadors, at firstname.lastname@example.org
Be a part of the lively Cuban Jewish spirit.
Celebrate a truly joyous Chanukah in Havana and light candles with community members, young and old. Learn about Cuban realities today and the unique and rapidly developing culture of Cuban Jewish life.
When JDC reentered Cuba in the early ‘90s, the Jews were dispersed and community life was nonexistent. Over the past 20 years, JDC has worked to help rebuild the Jewish community from the ground up.
Today, Jewish life on the island is thriving—with Cuban flair. Jews are celebrating Shabbat, conducting Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, and enjoying Jewish holidays. With the help of JDC, the community provides its neediest members with vital assistance, including food, medicine, and companionship.
Join us for this fascinating trip to see legendary Havana, and experience the festival of lights with Cuban flair.
