Be a part of the lively Cuban Jewish spirit.
Celebrate a Shabbat in Havana like you’ve never done before with a Jewish community that has been revived from near extinction. Share in an unforgettable experience of daily life and culture on the island today.
When JDC reentered Cuba in the early ‘90s, the Jews were dispersed and community life was nonexistent. Over the past 20 years, JDC has worked to help rebuild the Jewish community from the ground up.
Today, Jewish life on the island is thriving—with Cuban flair. Jews are celebrating Shabbat, conducting Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, and enjoying Jewish holidays. With the help of JDC, the community provides its neediest members with vital assistance, including food, medicine, and companionship.
Join us for this fascinating trip to see legendary Havana, and learn about the Jewish life realities of today.
