In consultation with the staff for Ethiopia of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), a Coalition member organization, the Coalition programmed funds raised for the "Ground Water Development Project." Six hand-dug wells were constructed in the Dabat Woreda area of the Gondar Region, an area in which JDC has been active for over 17 years in water management. Ethiopia’s Zonal Department of Water, Mining and Energy, as well as the Zonal Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Commission were involved in all aspects of the project.
