For seniors Mihail and Lyudmila — just two of the many vulnerable, elderly people we have told you about during Ukraine’s ongoing crisis — JDC is a lifeline when violence and unrest spreads fear and concern for the future.
We can be there in Ukraine thanks to our global partners. And as we stepped up emergency efforts, the overwhelming generosity of Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, Founder and President of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ), was on display, once again, through their extraordinary support of our work.
“For more than a decade, Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein and the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews have steadfastly supported JDC and ensured our ability to activate the very emergency response network we put into place during the crisis in Ukraine. Thanks to Rabbi Eckstein and IFCJ, tens of thousand of Ukrainian Jews caught up in ongoing turmoil and strife are getting desperately-needed aid and life-saving services,” said JDC CEO Alan H. Gill.
That emergency response in Ukraine includes: mobile units delivering food, medicine and other critical supplies; JDC staff and local Jewish community volunteers risking their lives to deliver food packages to homebound elderly; homecare workers spending nights in the homes of their most frail clients; special operating hours to ensure round-the-clock care; and emergency call chains and beefed up security at JDC facilities in cities and towns around Ukraine.
JDC is primarily funded through the Jewish Federations of North America. Key JDC funders also include: The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany, the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, the Maurice and Vivienne Wohl Charitable Foundation, World Jewish Relief (UK), UIA Federations Canada, and tens of thousands of individual donors.

Logging In With One of Your Social Web Site Logins
Instead of trying to remember a bunch of special username/password combinations to log in to different web sites that you visit, you can now link your account on this web site to your account on one (or more) of the social media web sites shown and log in with the same username/password combination that you use on that social web site to log in to our site.
To provide this connection in a secure manner, we use Gigya, a social network connection provider that works behind the scenes to make safe, secure connections between user accounts on different systems, such as popular social media web sites like Facebook and web sites like ours where you are actively involved in social issues and causes.
Each time you log in, Gigya uses special application programming interfaces (APIs) to establish the connection between the sites and validate your username and password. Neither our web site or Gigya receive or store your social network passwords.
In addition to reducing the number of logins you have to remember, connecting your accounts can make it quicker and easier to share an activity or cause you feel passionately about from our web site with your friends on your social web sites.
You can break the connection between your accounts at any time.
