Thousands are expected to gather on May 18th to celebrate in Russia at JDC’s 60th anniversary celebration for Israel, “Park Israel.” Supported by the Moscow City Administration and the Embassy of the State of Israel, the event will be held in Moscow’s famed Ostankino Park and will feature musical performances by acclaimed Russian and Israeli artists, food, activities for children, and more. Sponsors and partners for the celebration include The Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia (FEOR), World ORT, Hillel Russia, and other major supporters. The World Congress of Russian Jewry and JDC’s flagship Nikitskaya JCC (www.jcc.ru) organized the event.
“JDC returned to the FSU after the fall of Communism to reconnect Jews to their heritage. The Park Israel event is testament not only to the strength of the Jewish people but to the success of our renewal programs throughout the region. We are proud to support an initiative which further unites the Russian Jewish community and which celebrates Israel,” said Steve Schwager, Chief Executive Officer, JDC.
