On the Frontlines: Rescue During Russo-Georgian War
Immediately following the breakout of the Russo-Georgian conflict in 2008, JDC initiated an emergency response to provide Jews trapped in the war zone with food, water, and medicine, and assist refugees who fled to safer areas in Vladikavkaz, Russia, and Tbilisi, Georgia. JDC extended assistance to hundreds of people, searching tirelessly for victims, providing critical humanitarian aid, and helping many rebuild their lives long after the conflict was over.
