U.S. College Students Visit Day Care for the Elderly in Israel
Students from over 60 colleges and universities across the country recently visited a day care center for the elderly in Israel as part of United Jewish Communities' Contemporary Jewish Affairs Institute.
The center is just one of 160 geriatric day centers in Israel developed by JDC-ESHEL. In all of ESHEL's community-based programs, the goal is to provide frail but independent elderly with social, physical, and psychological supports and enable them to maintain a maximum level of independence allowing them to remain in their own homes.
