New York---The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, Inc. (JDC) has been named as one of 10 "Slam Dunk" charities by America's leading independent evaluator of charities. The service, Charity Navigator, has also given JDC a "four star" rating, the highest mark possible. "Givers can be confident that in supporting those charities rated highly by Charity Navoigator, they will be supporting organizations that are fiscally responsible and financially healthy," Charity Navigator states on its website. Contributing to JDC's stellar rating is the fact that the organization allocates 92.7 percent of all donor revenue to its vast expanse of programs serving communities around the world. "We are proud but not surprised by Charity Navigator's ringing endorsement," said Steven Schwager, JDC's executive vice president. "Behind the exciting and historic work JDC has been doing for 90 years in communities around the world, is an organization that takes its responsibility to donors extremely seriously. We will not allow ourselves to be less than 100 percent certain that every penny coming in is used to advance our mission." |
