India’s Jewish population is primarily located in the region around Mumbai in Maharashtra State and in Ahmedabad in Gujarat. During the past decade, JDC has worked hard to address urgent needs, train local leadership and strengthen the bonds of cooperation among local Jewish communities. Community leaders have responded to the challenge and are creating a stronger, more cohesive and vibrant Jewish communal life in India.
