JDC first began working in Morocco during World War II. From the hub of Jewish life in Casablanca to the smaller provincial communities, JDC is helping the Jewish community address the cultural, health, social and religious needs of all Moroccan Jews.

Some of the specific needs to which JDC is currently responding include:

  • Assistance with medical care for Jews of limited means.
  • As the cost of private medical care continues to rise, an increasing number of low and middle income families need help to cover their medical costs.
  • Tuition assistance for families of limited means. Families are having difficulty paying school fees as tuition in Jewish schools has been increased to make up for budget shortfalls.
