During the past decade, JDC has witnessed a wonderful resurgence of Jewish communal life in Cuba. While most Cuban Jews live in Havana, small but active communities also exist in Santiago de Cuba, Guantanamo, Santa Clara, Sancti Spiritu, Cienfuegos and Camaguey.

In the face of continued economic hardship, Cuba’s Jewish community relies on JDC to help it meet the humanitarian, religious and cultural needs of Cuban Jews. We also provide assistance in rehabilitating Jewish communal institutions and train local leadership so they may run community activities independently.
