Let My Children GrowOver 2,000 children throughout Moldova are receiving regular nutrition through monthly food packages. These packages include dry goods such as macaroni, tea, rice, buckwheat, sugar, cookies and fruit, as well as perishable items like milk, butter, eggs, etc. Vitamins are also being included in the monthly packages. At a seminar in April for community leaders in Moldova, a large discussion was held about how the "Let My Children Grow" project is strengthening the link between the children discovered through the program and the existing community. The families involved in the program are coming to see the Jewish community as their natural base, with the food program being one aspect of community services. The children are also involved in a Sunday school, as well as several new groups and activities opened at the JCC, due largely to the number of people who are responding to the food program. JDC is pleased to provide you with links to stories of some of the children who are receiving much needed help through the "Let My Children Grow" project: Nutritious Food Keeps Me Alert at School |
