JDC in Israel: Ensuring the Safety of Children, Elderly and People with Disabilities

Photo Slideshow: JDC Response to the Crisis in Israel

JDC in Israel: Ensuring the Safety of Children, Elderly and People with Disabilities Once again, Israel is under attack. Literally overnight the entire northern region of the country has become a conflict zone, with the area as far south as Tel Aviv now under threat. Working in close partnership with the Government of Israel, JDC is poised to meet the urgent needs which have emerged as a result of the current security emergency. By building on existing programs, partnerships, and accrued expertise, JDC is positioned to help ensure that many of the most vulnerable Israelis receive appropriate care and support and to mediate the full-scale impact of the emergency.

JDC, together with United Jewish Communities (UJC), the Jewish Federations of North America, and the Jewish Agency have taken immediate action ensuring the safety of these populations which it has traditionally served.

Building on existing initiatives, JDC, with its partners, has launched a comprehensive set of Emergency Programs delivering help and relief to vulnerable populations: Funding is urgently needed for these programs in order to continue delivering help and relief to Israel's most vulnerable.
