Activities to Explore

• Draw a model of a camp and make it a Jewish camp. What five things would you include that are Jewish in your camp? What five things would you include in your camp that you think are important for all camps? Draw and label them all.
• Write a postcard to the participants of the family camps this summer in the Former Soviet Union. What five questions do you want to ask them about their summers? What five things do you want to tell them about your summer?
• Create a collage about what you learned this year by reading the web-log. What was the most interesting web-log for you? Cut out pictures and phrases from magazines that illustrate Chava's journey to you.

• The Hillel in Moscow has a women's choir. To learn more about this club and hear them singing two songs, go to:

• Hesed Hamah delivers to almost 400 clients five days a week. Find out if there is a meals on wheels program in your town. Perhaps you can arrange to help deliver the meals or you can create special cards to send with the meals to wish the recipients well.
• Now that it is warmer in Moscow, Russians enjoy visiting the local historic sites and parks. Chava was shown around Moscow by some of the Hillel students. Create a plan for visitors to your community. What sites would you show them? Create a list of five places of interest and list three facts about each. When the weather is nice you can conduct your tour for your friends!

• Visit the Homepage of the Dnepropetrovsk Jewish Community! To learn what is happening there and view many photos of community events, log onto: http://jew.dp.ua/english/index.htm.
• At the Family Camp Training Seminar, we created dioramas of a Jewish room. Create your own Jewish room, using a piece of white paper, colored paper, markers, scissors, glue and staplers. Fold in the sides about 1.5 inches each and staple them to create a shallow box. Then create furniture and people using the colored paper and markers. Finally, add Jewish symbols to make it a "Jewish" room. What will you choose to include?
• To learn more about visiting the Ukraine to: http://www.lonelyplanet.com/destinations/europe/ukraine/. Here you can learn about the different regions and cities of Ukraine. Imagine you had five days to visit, what cities would you most like to visit. Create an itinerary.
