The Larry and Leonore Zusman JDC Prize
The Larry and Leonore Zusman – Joint Distribution Committee Prize was established to encourage and recognize individuals or staffs who exhibit excellence in the innovation and implementation of social service programs in Israel.
The prize will be awarded to people who have made a significant contribution in one of the following areas:
- Assistance to the elderly
- Programs for children and youth
- Development of services for the disabled and activities to involve them in society
- Absorption of new immigrants
- Advancement of volunteerism and philanthropy
- Development of human resources and organizational infrastructures in the social service field
Three awards will be granted annually of $15,000 each.
The prize will be awarded to individuals or to staffs of up to five people who worked together to make a shared contribution. Recipients must normally be Israeli citizens, although under special circumstances, temporary residents of Israel will also be considered. Institutions, agencies or organizations are not eligible for the prize.
Nominations may be made by any person, organization or institution, but self-nominations will not be considered.
