40,894
pounds of hygiene and medical supplies, as well as food, vitamin water, and warm clothes, delivered to vulnerable communities in the Bahamas.

Our recent response efforts:

  • The Bahamas: In response to Hurricane Dorian — the devastating storm that hit the Bahamas on September 1st, 2019 and is still inflicting damage — JDC coordinated with its local partners to provide emergency medical supplies, as well as understand and address Bahamians’ evolving needs. JDC still supports their long-term recovery efforts.
  • Mozambique: When Cyclone Idai killed more than 1,300 people and left 2 million in need in March 2019, JDC worked with local partners to assist communities affected by waterborne diseases, homelessness, and medical emergencies. Today, JDC continues to uplift these communities through innovative development initiatives.
  • Mexico: After an earthquake tore through Mexico City in 2017, JDC worked with its local partners to rescue victims and distribute medicine, first-aid equipment, and other essentials. Years later, JDC maintains a humanitarian presence in Mexico City and outlying areas, working to make devastated communities more resilient.
