Turkey is still reeling from the massive earthquake – and its catastrophic aftershocks – that quite literally tore the country apart. Since disaster struck, freezing temperatures and crumbling infrastructure have made this tragic situation even more desperate. Without shelter, heat, or food, many have nowhere to turn.

That’s why JDC has been on the ground since day one. Right now, we’re delivering urgent help to poor and elderly earthquake survivors, leveraging our time-honored relationship with the Turkish Jewish community, trusted NGO and volunteer partners, and support from the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA). This help includes temporary shelter; portable heating thermal clothes, and other winter essentials; hot food and ready-to-eat meals; medical equipment, and more.
