A Jewish Bicycle Journey from Bulgaria to Greece // June 17–23, 2020
Cycle among misty mountains and ancient ruins as you explore the Jewish community of Bulgaria en-route to Thessaloniki.
Traveling with JDC is a rare window into the corners of the global Jewish community that often go unseen, and an opportunity to witness firsthand the life-changing work we’re doing around the world. There is no more meaningful or authentic way to explore the breadth and depth of the Jewish experience than alongside the people nurturing and sustaining it.
Meet local Jews and community leaders who are reclaiming their Jewish identity while overcoming economic hardship; hear the dreams of the younger generation, hopeful for a brighter Jewish future.
In the 20th Century, the Jewish communities of Bulgaria and Greece were devastated by repressive regimes, but those that remain are the keepers of a rich Jewish tradition.
Since the early 1990’s, JDC has been helping to restore communal life, and revive the countries’ Jewish legacies. Now you can explore these two proud communities on two wheels, with JDC and local community members.
