JDC Licensing Terms – My Mitzvah Project

These Licensing Terms outline the manner in which a person (“Licensee”) launching a My Mitzvah Project peer fundraising campaign (the “Campaign”) may, and may not, use certain JDC intellectual property in connection with their Campaign.

A. JDC Intellectual Property. Licensee is permitted to use the following intellectual property (“JDC Materials”) only in connection with their Campaign:
  1. a. Elderly woman draped in a blanket and holding a teddy bear embraced by a JDC staff person/man wearing a JDC jacket, with text “Join Me! Support Elderly Jews in Ukraine.”
  2. b. Woman in a wheelchair with a JDC staff person/woman in a JDC jacket, with text “Join me! Help Israelis with Disabilities.”
  3. c. Six young adults using their arms to form a Jewish star Man, with text “Join me! Strengthen Jewish Life around the World.”
  4. d. Person wearing a JDC vest lifting on their shoulder a carton affixed with a JDC label, with text “Join Me! Support JDC’s Life-Saving Work”.
  5. e. JDC staff person wearing a JDC jacket walking with a man and his two sons, with text “Join Me! Support Jewish Families in the Former Soviet Union.”

Licensee may display the JDC Materials on Campaign websites, social media posts, emails, texts and/or handouts. Licensee may not use the JDC Materials for any other purpose.

B. Modifications Prohibited. Licensee may not make any adaptations or modifications to the JDC Materials. Modifications include, but are not limited to, changes to text or images (including changes impacting color, proportion, or orientation). Licensee may also not otherwise modify the JDC Materials in any way that compromises the integrity of JDC, the JDC Materials, or in any way renders the JDC Materials false or misleading.

C. Political Activity Prohibited. Licensee may not use the JDC Materials in connection with any campaign for or against any candidate for public office, or for political campaign activities, including but not limited to fundraising or solicitation of signatures.

D. Cause Marketing Prohibited. Licensee may not to use the JDC Materials in connection with “cause marketing” or any marketing activity in which a portion of the sales proceeds are donated to, or otherwise linked with, a charitable, social, or political cause.

E. Term and Termination. JDC, at its sole discretion, may request that Licensee immediately stop using the JDC Materials, and/or delete or destroy all JDC Materials that it is currently using. Licensee will comply with these requests within three (3) business days.

F. Rights, Title, and Interest. JDC retains all rights, title, and interest in the JDC Materials, including any modifications. All JDC Materials shall remain the exclusive property of JDC.

Licensee may not represent that it has any ownership interest in the JDC Materials and may not directly or indirectly challenge JDC’s ownership interest in the JDC Materials, or the validity of the JDC Materials.
