Even when hope seems lost, especially in the most desperate of situations like those in Haiti, we would be remiss if we did not share this heartwarming story of a healthy baby boy who was delivered at the field hospital run by the Medical Corps of the Israel Defense Forces.
JDC is supporting the IDF Medical Corps in their invaluable efforts, and our funds specifically equipped the hospital’s neonatal unit, including the incubator used for the newborn. His mother, in a moment of inspiration, named him “Israel.”
That field hospital, situated on a soccer field in Port Au Prince, is a reminder of the powerful impact our partners have in Haiti. It also gives us another opportunity to thank you for your support and for allowing us to live the Talmudic dictate that he who saves one life saves the world entire.
