Today, more than 5,000 people participated in Jerusalem’s first Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. A JDC delegation of Board members and staff from the U.S. proudly participated in the Race, which brought together people of multiple ethnicities and faiths for a common cause: to tackle breast cancer.

This event is the latest in a series that included the JDC and Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s Race to fight breast cancer in Bosnia and Herzegovina, covered in an earlier JDC blog post. We’re thrilled to share that PBS NewsHour showcased this critical work in their Tuesday evening broadcast, featuring JDC’s own Nela Hasic, Regional Director of JDC’s Women’s Health Empowerment Program, who has helped pioneer the annual breast cancer conference and race in Sarajevo and beyond.

Stay tuned for video footage of JDC’s Race participants in Jerusalem!
