We are excited to share a White House blogpost recognizing JDC’s work in Haiti and our partnership with USAID (the US Agency for International Development). The post, penned by Joshua DuBois, Special Assistant to the President and Executive Director of the White House Office of Faith-based and Neighborhood Partnerships, follows the one year anniversary of the tragic January 12th, 2010 earthquake in Haiti.

JDC has maintained ties with the American government throughout the course of our history as we’ve provided humanitarian aid to people suffering worldwide … from a famine in Ukraine in the 1920s … the aftermath of the Holocaust … or one of the century’s worst natural disasters in Haiti.

We tip our hats to the Government Affairs Committee of JDC’s Board of Directors, established last year with the aim of expanding our links to and cooperation with the US government.

And special thanks to the Jewish Federations of North America and the tens of thousands of individual donors for their critical support of JDC projects in Haiti, now highlighted by the White House and USAID.
