Dream Bigger.

The Global Jewish Communal Loan Fund

Now it’s your turn.

Do you want to innovate your community’s Jewish education system, map its demographic trends, or renovate community institutions? Do you have an idea for something brand new? JDC’s Global Jewish Communal Loan Fund offers interest-free loans of up to $125,000 to help you make your vision a reality.

Dreams Realized.

See some of the ways Jewish communities have put their loans to use.

Restoring a Landmark in Sofia, Bulgaria

When Sofia’s Central Synagogue was opened in 1909, the royal family and prime minister were present. But by the 90s, it was in disrepair — decades of wear had taken their toll and a hole in the roof caused by a WWII bomb remained after nearly fifty years. The loan JDC offered the community not only helped fund much-needed repairs, but inspired other donors to support additional work on the synagogue.

A New School in Asunción, Paraguay

The Jewish community of Asunción numbers 1,000 people. As the community has grown and changed, so have its needs — including a new building for its Jewish school. The community initiated construction, and thanks to a loan from JDC, they were able to complete it in July 2019.

The new, three-story schoolhouse has laboratories, an auditorium, and a one-of-a-kind tech lab, as well as enough classrooms to serve all of the community’s needs.
