I’ve worked at JDC for a long time, and still, no two days are the same. There are always interesting new projects, new challenges, and interesting people to meet.
My supervisor and my colleagues trust me, and I can rely on them as well. If I have ten different ideas, I can always pursue eight of them (at least) –– which really motivates me. My team’s trust, and the feeling that I’m bettering the world, has brought out the best side of me; I can see firsthand how my work contributes to JDC’s mission.

I’m proud to support JDC’s century-plus mission of saving Jewish lives –– no matter where they are or who they are. This work is personal. My family received JDC assistance in the 1950s, when Israel was experiencing an economic crisis. So, It’s a privilege to give back.
I work with great people at the Myers-JDC-Brookdale Institute, and I found the perfect place to use my skills and innate curiosity to improve social services for people in need. And I love my team––eight smart, nice, serious, dedicated, and caring women, who chose this job out of a sense of mission: to create a more equitable society in Israel.

When you join JDC, you join an organization with a rich history and a legacy of extraordinary Jewish leadership––leaders like Stanley Abramovich, a former JDC Country Director, whom I met. Stanley helped survivors in the Displaced Persons (DP) camps after the Holocaust and helped build Jewish life in Israel.
We all might have very different notions of what it means to be a “Good Jew.” But JDC is one place where we can respect each other and live our Jewish values together––no matter where we come from. And that extends to JDC’s work. Here in Israel, JDC plays a precious and unique role, bringing together all people for a common future.

At JDC, you really feel the impact you’re making: I don’t just sit at a computer all day––I get to know each and every life-saving program JDC supports across Latin America.
When I came to JDC, it was the height of Argentina’s financial crisis; I was only supposed to stay here a year. But one year turned into twenty, and JDC encouraged me to challenge myself and expand into new roles. Now two decades in, I feel so fortunate to be able to combine my accounting expertise with my passion for humanitarianism.
Working at a global organization like JDC is extremely enriching. It allows you to get to know the customs and idiosyncrasies of other countries, to learn from colleagues around the world, and above all, to feel part of a community that, regardless of differences in language or culture, has a unified objective: to bring help to the most vulnerable people around the world and cultivate Jewish life.
