As global economic instability continues to have a staggering impact on Jewish lives, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee’s CEO Steven Schwager said that JDC’s historic partnership with the Jewish Federations of North America is more critical than ever.

“Through the generous support of our friends and partners at the Jewish Federations of North America, JDC is deploying innovative and life-changing solutions around the globe. By working to battle Jewish poverty, help Israelis solve their socio-economic challenges, and ensure Jews have the essential tools to build a new Jewish future, we’re putting words into action: wherever there is a Jew in need, we are there,” said Schwager. “And in these uncertain times, it’s crucial that we continue to work together—harnessing our philanthropic strength and devotion to the Jewish people—and meet those needs.”

JDC experts at the GA will highlight JDC’s creative and successful programs addressing the growing needs of Jews in more than 70 countries. These forums will focus on aiding and rescuing Jewish communities in peril; solutions for battling Jewish poverty; understanding and reversing Israel’s socio-economic gaps; advocating for issues facing Israeli Arabs; and utilizing Jewish service as a tool to build Jewish responsibility and solidarity among young people.

JDC speakers at the International Lion of Judah Conference will include three extraordinary women—Irina Lipsky, Anne Heyman, and Nela Hasic—at the forefront of projects dealing with genocide, breast cancer, and Jewish poverty and renewal.
