How do we care for ourselves and each other through difficult times?

On night two of Chanukah, we celebrate the Jewish value of b’riyut — literally, “health and wellness.” Jewish tradition values the health of mind and body: By safeguarding your individual wellness, you can give the best of yourself to family, friends, and the world.

At JDC, b’riyut is at the core of all we do. Whether it’s through delivering medicine, food, and meeting the home healthcare needs of tens of thousands of poor and elderly Jews in the former Soviet Union, or providing trauma therapy for Ukraine’s Jews or a sense of stability and structure for Israelis in the line of fire, promoting wellness for the vulnerable is what we’ve always done.
